Hannigan Set for US Bow

Lisa Hannigan’s Sea Sew album, released in Ireland in 2008, has been slated for a January 2009 release in the US after her recent deal with ATO Records in the USA. Hannigan first came to the fore as part of Damien Rice's band where she was a standout on songs like 'The Blower's Daughter' and '9 Crimes'. The County Meath singer, who toured with Jason Mraz last fall, heads to San Diego on February 11th to begin her own headlining tour. Having also collaborated with Gary Lightbody of Snow Patrol, Hannigan now has her own material to promote and she looks forward to introducing a new set of potential fans to her work.

Tommy Hilfiger - An Irish American in Galway

Fashion superstar Tommy Hilfiger jetted into Galway today for the official launch of his flagship Irish store. Surprisingly it's Hilfiger's first trip to Ireland. Although born in New York Hilfiger can trace his roots back to Cork & Westport, Co. Mayo.

A cheerful Hilfiger said "My visit honours the union of two nations that are not only rooted through history, but also through the connection of my ancestral family." We reckon that makes Tommy Hilfiger a bona fide member of the Irish Tribe.

While here in the motherland Hilfiger will also be visiting the Philosophical Society, Trinity College, where he'll pick up an Honorary Patronage. Previous celebrity holders of the award include Bono,Al Pacino and Bob Geldof .
